BREAST LIFT

If you are like most women, pregnancy, nursing and age have changed the shape, size and consistency of your breasts.  The skin has lost tone, elasticity and the breasts droop.

Mastopexy or Breast Lift is a procedure designed to restore youthfulness to the breasts.  Most commonly excess skin is removed, the nipple raised and the breast reshaped.  A breast implant may be utilized to increase or restore volume during the same procedure.  The areola size may also be reduced.

Breast lifts are performed in our surgical suite and we utilize local anesthesia and sedation.  The procedure takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours and post-operative pain is mild to moderate.  Usually you may return to work within a week and normal activities in several weeks.

The scars from a breast lift are located around the areola, and extend in a line downwards to the crease below the breast.

Despite being long, the scars are well hidden.  The scars are a trade-off for a firmer more attractive shape.  A breast lift will not effect breast feeding; however additional pregnancies will certainly effect the results.
