As
we age our eyebrows descend causing heaviness and
hooding of the upper eyelids. Frown lines and
furrows are usually present. A brow lift will smooth
the creases and elevate the brows, opening up the eyes and
giving you a more alert and rested appearance.
Most commonly a brow lift is done utilizing an endoscope. The scope is inserted through 3-4 small
incisions behind the hairline. A minimal amount of hair is
clipped and swelling, bruising and pain are moderate.
The procedure may be combined with other cosmetic procedures
and is usually performed in our surgical suite.
Intravenous sedation is recommended for your comfort and
safety.
Some men and women are candidates for a direct brow lift.
This procedure is quick, safe, accurate and can be performed
using only local anesthesia. The operation involves
removing a crescent of skin just above the eyebrow.
The scar is usually well camouflaged in the upper brow.
Regardless of which procedure is best for you, anticipate
staying home from work for about a week. Generally,
most patients are pleased with how youthful and rested they
look.
