All injectables can be used to treat facial contour defects and depressions, particularly around the lips, nose, eyebrows and forehead.  Typically no skin test is required. Treatment consists of injections and periodic follow up.  No injections are permanent and may last only several months.

Fine facial lines and wrinkles are caused by the degeneration of the natural collagen support layer that lies just beneath the skin.  Injectable Collagen replaces and replenishes this support layer, evening the skin.

Collagen is a natural protein made from cow skin that has been highly purified.  Cosmoplast is a genetically engineered form of collagen.

Restylane/Hylaform are used to treat facial wrinkles. Early results suggest improvement is longer lasting than collagen injections.

Botox, purified Botulinum toxin, temporarily paralyzes facial muscles.  As a result of this paralysis deep frown lines and crows feet may be temporarily eliminated.
