Have
you noticed deepening creases around your cheeks? Are
jowls beginning to show? Does your neck skin hang
loosely? Have you lost that well defined jaw
line? If you are concerned about any of the above,
then you might consider a face lift.
A face lift is a major surgical procedure that will
reposition facial and neck structures and remove excess
skin. Frequently a brow lift, eyelid surgery or laser
skin resurfacing is performed at the same time for optimal
results.
Usually a face lift is done in our surgical suite utilizing
sedation and local anesthesia. If you prefer, general
anesthesia may be administered for your comfort.
Generally
surgery time is about 3 to 4 hours. The incisions are
well hidden behind the hairline and around the ears. Bulky
dressings will be placed and you will go home shortly after
the procedure. We will change your dressings a few days
later to a lighter covering. Anticipate bruising and
swelling to last 7-14 days, at which time you may return to
work. Full activity can be resumed after 3-4 weeks.
Despite the length and complexity of the procedure,
complications are uncommon. Results are dramatic and
may last 5-10 years.
